A Meaningful Legacy for the Future from ÜÇGE: 50th Anniversary / Gökçin Aras Memorial Forest

ÜÇGE Group Companies has launched a meaningful project to leave a lasting mark on nature in its 50th year. As part of the “ÜÇGE 50th Anniversary / Gökçin Aras Memorial Forest” initiative, brought to life with the participation of company employees, 10,000 saplings were planted.

Implemented as a key element of ÜÇGE’s sustainability approach, spanning from production to technology, and from people to the environment, the project stands out not only as an afforestation effort but also as a powerful social impact initiative reflecting the company’s corporate culture, spirit of unity, and shared sense of responsibility for the future.

At the event, which brought together employees from different locations, each sapling planted became a symbol of solidarity, shared values, and responsibility toward future generations.

“We Wanted to Carry Our 50-Year Journey into the Future as a Breath of Life”

Damla Aras, Chairwoman of the Board of ÜÇGE, emphasized that the company’s half-century journey is defined not only by commercial success but also by the value it creates for society and the environment:

“As ÜÇGE, we have grown our nearly 50-year story through production, dedication, and a people-centered approach. Today, we recognize that true success lies not only in owning the present but also in embracing the future. For this reason, we consider our Memorial Forest project an extremely valuable initiative. ÜÇGE Takes Part in TAİDER’s “From Industry to Art” Project

ÜÇGE Group Companies contributed to a significant collaboration in the field of sustainable design by taking part in the “From Industry to Art” project led by the Turkish Family Business Association (TAİDER).

As part of the project, students from the Industrial Design Department of Middle East Technical University developed and showcased aesthetic, functional, and sustainable products by repurposing waste materials provided by participating companies.

ÜÇGE Group Companies supported the initiative by supplying waste materials generated from their manufacturing processes, actively participating as a key stakeholder in university-industry collaboration. During the meeting held with the students, production processes were presented on-site, waste materials were examined, and insights into design processes were shared.

As part of Innovation Week, ÜÇGE Group Companies brought together experienced speakers with its employees through the panel titled “Industrial Innovation: New Ways of Creating Value”, held at the Bursa Işıktepe OSB factory. During the event, many strategic topics were addressed, ranging from production and digital transformation to sustainability and human resources. ÜÇGE Hosted the Turkish Retailers Federation

The management of the Turkish Retailers Federation visited ÜÇGE to explore its innovative production power and sustainable vision on-site.

ÜÇGE, the leading brand in store equipment, warehouse racking systems, and technological solutions for the retail industry, hosted the Turkish Retailers Federation (TPF) President Ömer Düzgün, TPF management, and PERDER representatives at its main production facility located in the Bursa Organized Industrial Zone on Thursday, October 23.

The visit was hosted by ÜÇGE Group Companies President Esra Güven and Vice President of Sales & Marketing Özgür Aras, and featured important discussions on the present and future of the retail sector.

The program began with an opening speech by Esra Güven, who spoke about ÜÇGE’s innovative vision that adds value to the sector and its commitment to sustainable production. She emphasized, “On this journey where we take root for the future, we believe in the importance of domestic production and strong collaborations.”

Following the opening, Hilal Kalenderoğlu, Corporate Communications Manager, introduced ÜÇGE’s environmental and social responsibility initiative, the “Rooting for the Future” project, and presented the film about the company’s 10,000-sapling memorial forest established in Bursa.

Hopeful Steps into the Future with ÜÇGE

At the 12th annual Eker I Run event, ÜÇGE Group Companies made a meaningful impact—not only on the track, but also through sustainability initiatives that benefit both society and the environment. With a strong 40-person running team, ÜÇGE once again demonstrated its commitment to creating a better future.

As part of the event, REVEGO’s iECO Reverse Vending Machines were strategically placed at the venue to promote recycling awareness and support waste management efforts. Waste collection bins placed along the course further enhanced the event’s environmentally conscious approach. All collected beverage packaging was donated to LÖDER (The Foundation for Education and Research of Children with Leukemia), transforming environmental action into tangible social benefit.

This year, the ÜÇGE running team also ran in support of the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (TEGV) and its campaign “Lighting the Future with Every Step in Our 30th Year.” Every donation collected through the campaign became a light of hope for children’s education and a meaningful contribution to a brighter future.

GÖKÇİN ARAS REMEMBERED WITH RESPECT AND LONGING ON THE 3RD ANNIVERSARY OF HIS PASSING

The late Gökçin Aras, founder of ÜÇGE Group Companies, was commemorated with deep respect, gratitude, and longing on the 3rd anniversary of his passing.

The memorial ceremony was held at the ÜÇGE Işıktepe OSB Factory with the participation of all employees and was simultaneously joined via live connection by ÜÇGE’s locations in Bursa Kestel, Mustafakemalpaşa, and Istanbul. Afterwards, prayers were recited at his grave in Nilüfer Fethiye Cemetery with the attendance of his family, close friends, board members, and loved ones.

Committed to Carrying Forward His Vision and Legacy

In her speech, Damla Aras, Chairwoman of the Board of ÜÇGE, shared the following words: “This gathering is not only a moment of remembrance but also an expression of our determination to keep alive the light of a leader and a visionary. My father always believed that the greatest achievements rise on the shoulders of a strong and united team. With this understanding, we will continue to carry this legacy into the future, standing shoulder to shoulder.”

“His first step became a half-century-long journey”

Can Aras, Chairman of the Board of ÜÇGE, also reflected on his father’s journey and legacy, saying:

“Although he left us three years ago, we feel his presence in every step we take. Because he did not just establish a company; he built a culture that valued people and respected labor. His trust in his employees encouraged everyone to strive for better. He listened to every idea, extended a helping hand, and believed in the potential of young people. He taught us not only how to work but also the importance of honesty, diligence, and sharing. By putting his heart into everything, he showed us that beyond success lies the true value of being human. Next year, we will reach the 50th anniversary of his very first step. The foundation of this half-century-long journey has always been his dreams, his vision, and his human values. Today, as we honor the past, we also reaffirm our commitment to the future.”

Born in 1954 in Göle, Ardahan, Gökçin Aras began his entrepreneurial journey in 1976 in a small workshop in Bursa, which he transformed into a global success story with the ÜÇGE brand. ONTO Retail is in TAİDER's Industry to Art Project

ONTO Retail, one of ÜÇGE Group companies, signed a meaningful cooperation in the field of sustainable design by taking part in the From Industry to Art project organised by TAİDER. Within the scope of the project, students from Istanbul Technical University Industrial Design and Interior Architecture departments will design aesthetically, functionally and environmentally sustainable products using waste materials provided by the companies participating in the project.

Throughout the process, they will communicate directly with the companies, receive feedback and have the opportunity to develop new approaches to production and sustainability.

During the meeting held at ÜÇGE's main factory, students were informed about production processes, waste materials were examined on site and architectural approaches to new generation office designs were shared. Hosted by Damla Aras, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Sevgi Yalçın, Corporate Communications Manager, and Cem Şen, Environment and Sustainability Specialist, the event provided an important interaction environment with a focus on sustainability and innovation.

ÜÇGE Chairman Damla Aras expressed her satisfaction with ONTO Retail's participation in this special project and said, "We believe that the innovative perspectives of young people will make valuable contributions to the business world.
